The Pillar of New Products, Materials, and Building Technology
Saint-Gobain Grants Program is an opportunity to make your creative and innovative ideas that provide a fresh perspective to existing systems a reality with the assistance of up to 1 lakh rupees.
To be eligible for the grant, your proposals must be a part of at least one of the 5 pillars championed by the Saint-Gobain Grants Program. This blog will focus on The Pillar of New Products, Materials, and Building Technology. This pillar corresponds to innovation in the form of a new product, material, and/or building technology with respect to architecture, construction, and design. We’re giving you access to past proposals in this pillar to help you understand how to submit a successful idea.

The projects executed under this pillar include Darrang Eco Works – a production unit of bamboo based furniture, Composite Plastic Panel, Shaluton – flexible living spaces, Revitalising the Agariyas: Naturally formed Salt Shelters, Flexible Reinforced Silicone Commode.

Project Details: A solution to Bangalore’s garbage crisis and an alternative material for temporary, moving shelters with micro financing schema for the urban poor. This projects aims to throw light on possible, pragmatic approach on solving the problems Bangalore faces- the garbage crisis and a growing number of homeless urban poor. The project turns towards Composite Plastic Panels as a solution to Bangalore’s garbage crisis and an alternative material for temporary, moving shelters with micro financing schema for the urban poor. From the funds received from Saint Gobain, a prototype of the moving shelter will be fabricated.
